NOBQ Invoices and Audio Tapes
NOBQ Invoices and Audio Tapes
With regards to the Invoices, BetaMax and UA 60/uMatic tape purchases and processing I was pretty much out of the loop other than making payments. I do recall purchasing 12
conventional high quality small, home portable cassette’s for souvenier purposes. One copy for all of the musicians including myself. One copy for each of the five arrangers. One copy for my parents and one copy for my UMASS trumpet instructor. From your cassette copy, you provided to me a copy of each of the 12 tracks fully mastered in .aiif file format in November 2018. The invoices that I have managed to retain to not specifically the compilation and purchase of these 12 souvenier cassettes. Do you recall how and where the 12 souvenier cassettes originated?

InterMuse Corp. Slidell-1986
I have a very faint memory dealing with InterMuse Corp. Slidell-1986, but I am clueless what the notation ” 3 Digital Recordings, – 06-04-1986″ represents. Did you interact with InterMuse Corp. on my behalf? Do you recall what this service provided?
The invoice charge for ‘transportation’ expense on the invoice seems odd to me.
Somehow, InterMuse Corp may have provided the 12 souvenier cassettes.
1. 3 Digital Recordings, – 06-04-1986
Digital By Dickinson-11-14-1986
22.5 hrs. Digital Editing and Transfer and 7 – 60 minute UCA
However, I have in my possession 3 Scotch UCA 60 Video Cassettes which are the large uMatics. This does not include the 4th ‘failed’ non-audio file extractable uMatic labeled ‘NOBQ Master’ which I shipped to the lab in PA about a month ago which has yet to be returned to me. Although this invoice indicates I paid for 7 – 60 minute UCA (uMatic) tapes, I only recall receiving four uMatic tapes. Do you recall 7 uMatic tapes via Dicinson?
BETAMAX AND UMATIC RECORDINGS
I have scanned hand notated labels associated with each of the 11 BetaMax tapes I have in my possession. I am hoping that you might recall one of these labels fixed to one of the eleven BetaMax tapes might contain a fully edited master full audio NOBQ digital recording.
The images of the handwritten notations assigned to each of the 11 BetaMax tapes were scanned as pairs or groups of three notations-labels fixed to the plastic container box,
the label fixed to the outermost edge and a larger label sometimes fixed to the top surface of the BetaMax cassette tape.
Do you recall the significance of the word ‘Assembled’ that was notated on label of the following four of the BetaMax tapes?
1. NOBQ Assembled Tape 1 Beta II

2. NOBQ Beta I Tape 1 Assembled

3. NOBQ Assembled Tape 2 Beta II

4. NOBQ Beta 1 Tape 2 (Assembled)

Note the dates on the next three reference April 1986 which could be a wrong date notation as recording was completed in May 1986. However, there were three — 2 hour recording sessions. Perhaps recording began in April 1986 and concluded in May 1986.
5. NOBQ Tape 4 Beta I 04-06-86

6. NOBQ Tape 5 Beta 1 04-06-86

7. NOBQ Tape 5 Beta 1 04-06-86 (labeled like the above)

Although the three SouthLake Recording Studios invoices references dates in August and October 1986, I wonder if the following BetaMax tapes that are dated April and May of 1986 originated by way of SouthLake Recording Studios?
8. NOBQ Tape 3 Beta 1 05-15-86 65-151

9. NOBQ Tape 1 04-25-86 Takes 1-94
Note the initials applied to lower right of the ‘painters’ tape applied
to the lower right of this tape. Looks like ‘DL’ (David Farrell?). This might be one of the four BetaMax tapes referenced on the SouthLake Studiios invoices.

10. NOBQ Tape 2 04-25-86 and 05-15-86-Takes 1-64 and Takes 95-116

11. NOBQ Tape 2-Beta II – Takes 95-116
Based on the painter’s tape and handwriting, this tape might have originated
directly from David Farrell.

The following are images of description written in red on the labels fixed to the top of three uMatic tapes. Note: The fourth, which is not pictured is the non-useable uMatic which I have not received back yet, was labeled ‘NOBQ Master’ in red ink.
Do you recall the meaning of “New TC” that was placed on the label of the first two of these 3 uMatic cassettes?
1. uMatic Reel 1 New TC 11-13-86

2. uMatic Reel 2 New TC 11-13-86

3. uMatic Reel 3 TC Copy 11-13-86
Do you recall the meaning of “TC Copy” on this uMatic tape?
