I attended the University of Massachusetts in Amherst from 1967-1972 where I was a ‘dual’ music major. In addition to being the second UMASS-Amherst music major to ever earn a Bachelor of Arts in Trumpet Performance, I was also a music education major. Scholastically, I earned a 3.48 grade point average at UMASS-Amherst.
The UMASS-Amherst Music Department was formally established in 1938 by Dr. Doric Joseph Alviani.
